Okay, I'm going to give my truest sports confession yet. I know absolutely nothing about basketball. I mean other than a few fundamentals of the game, I couldn't tell you a technical foul from a whatever that flopping thing is. So what do I know about betting on Brooklyn? Absolutely nothing, other than a feeling I get when I feel the energy surrounding the Barclays Center. I mean, let's face it, Brooklyn seems to be the place to be lately.
When I was little I thought everyone came from Brooklyn. No matter who I talked to it just seemed that everyone was either from or had parents who were from Brooklyn. Why even Carmelo Anthony, who plays for that other New York team, hails from Brooklyn. Oh and Marv Albert, I think he's from Brooklyn, too. Oh and didn't a tree grow there. I mean even that very famous tree, is from none other than Brooklyn.
So can the Brooklyn Nets earn the top spot in their division this year? Admittedly I am not the person who would know best. Seems they have a new coach, and some new talent, but they may have some players on the down side of thirty. So it's going to be a challenge, to say the least. Keeping healthy, knowing that the other New York team is hungry after letting go of the reigns in the playoffs last year, well it won't be easy that's for sure.
Yet, I'm going to suggest that Brooklyn has a chance. There is energy in that borough and I just think that if they can capitalize on the history of sports in the borough, and just work really hard at the goal of earning the top spot, then who knows they might just surprise everyone. It won't be easy, but there's always a chance.
